The Anguvigaq, otherwise known as the Regional Nunavimmi Umajulirijiit Katujiqatigininga (RNUK) or the Nunavik Hunting, Fishing and Trapping Organization (HFTA), is mandated to protect the harvesting rights of Inuit while ensuring that it is done sustainably. The Anguvigaq supports the Anguvigapiit, or LNUKs, which are elected in each community for the purpose of wildlife and harvesting management. The Anguvigaq represents the Anguvigapiit on the regional, provincial, and federal level to ensure continued and sustainable access to country food for Inuit.
